Pros

Haven’t thought of any yet

Cons

The interview time was not arranged properly; I waited for about an hour and a half before the interview.

During the interview, the supervisor may have been looking at my résumé for the first time and conducted the interview through questions and answers.

Finally, they said to come in next week for a skills test.

Pros

It’s really exactly like the reviews online.

Cons

1. There was only one full-time employee (?) at the office handling reception; everyone else was there for interviews.

2. The interview ended in less than five minutes. After looking at my portfolio, they even asked, “How would you apply it?” ????????

3. They didn’t give me a chance to ask questions or explain what the company does. They just took a quick look and it was over.

Pros

2020.10.29

Applied for: Short-term data entry staff

None

Cons

1. It really is true that hindsight is 20/20. I went without first checking other people's interview experiences. Indeed, there was a large group of people applying for different positions who signed in and then waited to be called for their interviews. The waiting time was about 30 minutes, and the interview itself was about 2 minutes, I think. Although it was for a short-term data processing position, it wasn't surprising that the interview was so quick.

There were two questions. The first: What is your Chinese typing speed? The second: How short can “short-term” be?

It was a very unusual interview experience.

Cons

At first, I didn't check the reviews. Later, after I was notified that I could come in for an interview, someone told me that this company had a bad reputation, but I still had to force myself to go.

The interview lasted less than three minutes. They didn't explain what the company did, and they seemed to only skim my résumé. The interview notification was just like the online reviews described: a bunch of people crowded into the office waiting for interviews. The environment and atmosphere were cold, and overall it just felt terrible.

I advise fresh graduates not to go for an interview. I was asked to leave without even being asked many questions ^_^

Would I really be happy working there if I actually got hired afterward?

Pros

Can't think of any.

Cons

I interviewed with this company twice. They have many job openings, and there were many people at both interviews. As soon as you arrive, their staff ask you to sign in and leave your phone number along with the position you are applying for. The first time, I interviewed for an administrative position and waited for about 40 minutes. When I finally went in, the interviewing supervisor simply took my résumé and said they would pass it on to the person in charge and notify me in a few days to come back for a second interview. In the end, I never received any notification.

About three weeks later, I saw that they had opened a position for document editing and layout, so I thought I would apply again. I arrived even before the stated interview hours, but there were still many people waiting. This time, I waited for more than an hour. When I went in, the interviewing supervisor immediately took out one of their books, opened it to a page, and asked me whether I could make something exactly the same. They said they hoped I would tell the truth, so I answered that there were a few illustrations in it that I had not really seen before, and asked whether someone would teach me after I started. They seemed to mean that this was all very basic, and then directly said that they would still keep my résumé and that I could go home and think it over. I felt very uncomfortable and felt as though they were hurrying me out; I was out in less than five minutes... (I can do layout and that kind of illustration-related material, but how could I know anything without knowing anything about the company’s business?)

Moreover, the company did not explain any benefits, the duties of the position, or the working hours at all.

Pros

I heard that this company has continuously been recruiting new employees for ten years and still hasn’t been able to fill all its openings. That’s really quite impressive.

Cons

One day, I received an invitation on 104 for a GIS professional technical specialist position.

I thought I’d go and see what it was like.

Although, in my experience, jobs that proactively send invitations are usually pretty bad.

Being torn apart in an interview wasn’t a first for me.

But this manager really showed unmistakably what an exploitative old-school boss looks like.

From the moment I walked in and was asked what GIS was, they already had an incredibly arrogant look on their face.

They said my answer was worth zero points.

Then they said that I was applying for a “professional” technical specialist position,

and that even with a master’s degree, they still couldn’t call themselves a professional.

((Aren’t you the one who posted the opening and invited me...? = =

Then they asked what I knew and where I had learned it,

with an extremely skeptical attitude toward the interviewee’s expertise.

Finally, they told me I would receive a phone call the next day,

and that they might need to test my familiarity with the software in practice.

But they didn’t even mention the job responsibilities, benefits, working hours, or anything else.

When I asked about these things, they only told me that someone specifically responsible for this area would explain them over the phone.

OK, so this interview was basically just a waste of my time.

If you’re only selecting applicants unilaterally without letting applicants learn about the company, I’m definitely giving a negative review.

Pros

No thoughts

Cons

Interview scheduling: all interviewees were asked to arrive at the same time, from part-time workers to managers, causing the entire company to become overcrowded and resulting in a long wait. I applied to a drafting company, but they said they currently have no CAD software, which I found shocking.
