You can often watch a live eight o’clock drama unfold right beside your desk.

Other than the person in charge of the company, all the other colleagues are easy to get along with (this is not guaranteed, because someone quits every few days after reaching their limit).

After reading the following reviews, I found that even after several years, the history remains astonishingly similar.

The general manager has extremely poor emotional control. If the way you do something is even slightly against his wishes or you fail to keep up with his pace, he immediately concentrates heavy fire on you and launches a fierce attack. Once those unable to endure his attacks leave, those remaining had better stay on high alert to avoid becoming his next target. This treatment of employees has resulted in every department having only two or three core employees, while the rest have very short tenures and turnover is extremely rapid. Someone who has been there for just two months can even become the most senior person in the department.

Under the pretext of holding meetings to align everyone on progress, he actually makes everyone listen to him brag and praise himself, as if the company makes money solely because of him and every department depends on him to operate. He often tells everyone to work methodically, yet he is the person in the company most fond of breaking the rules. Abruptly changing his decisions is commonplace. He constantly shouts that the company is his, that he has the final say, and that his mother does not know how to do business, without realizing that he spends all day doing meaningless things that waste people's lives. He often asks everyone to put themselves in his shoes, yet requires employees to complete tasks within unreasonable time frames. Meanwhile, things requiring his review can sit quietly on his desk for a week without any follow-up.

As for overtime, only overtime he approves qualifies for overtime pay—for example, handling tasks he assigns right before leaving work (while he himself simply turns around and walks away). Work done out of a desire to improve things is regarded by him as only natural. He also occasionally mocks employees in front of the entire company, saying that they need to stay late because they lack ability, so they should not even think about receiving a single cent of overtime pay.

To the brave souls who, after reading the above, still want to go to this company to broaden their horizons: best of luck.

In one sentence: family businesses are a disaster.

1. Since it is family-run, the boss’s entire family can do whatever they want. During normal working hours, they burn incense and pray, play Buddhist scriptures, and roast sausages in the office.

2. The number of overtime hours worked on weekdays and holidays is whatever the boss says it is. If you report fewer hours in response, your supervisor will even block the submission.

3. Bonuses agreed upon during the interview can be delayed for several months because the company cannot properly settle its own accounts. Previous colleagues have even experienced delays of more than a year. Basically, you only receive the base salary; if you cannot hold out and resign midway, they simply treat the bonuses as though they never existed.

4. The general manager has extremely poor emotional control. During morning meetings, she boasts that the company only makes money because of her, and she criticizes every employee. Even employees who have done nothing wrong get subjected to a long stream of completely illogical remarks, as she pretends to understand everyone’s work progress. She also gets into heated arguments with her parents in front of the entire company, making everyone uncomfortable, then taunts them by saying she is quitting. The next day, she continues coming to work, grinning and joking with everyone as if nothing happened.

5. The company talks about performance all day long: no performance means no bonus. Yet the boss and his wife often travel together while leading group tours in the name of work. In addition to making the company cover one extra person’s travel expenses, the two of them fly business class for the entire trip, costing over NT$100,000 or even NT$200,000 per trip, repeatedly dragging down the group’s performance.

Overall, I recommend this company only to friends who feel that life is too boring, have too much time on their hands, and want to broaden their horizons.

During the interview, I waited for over an hour because the interviewer was chatting with someone else.

During the interview, the interviewer kept boasting about how many groups they had led and how experienced they were, then said that because I had no experience, they would offer me a salary of 30K. After I joined, I discovered that no one in the entire department had any experience, because everyone was new. Some people received 32K, while others received 33K—it was all based on gut feeling.

The most annoying thing is that every morning we have to attend a morning meeting lasting at least 1.5 hours. Officially, it is a morning meeting, but in reality it is just listening to the general manager make sarcastic or mocking remarks about others and praise herself. Every day, when the general manager arrives late at the office, she also tells you to go in and help her take out the trash (the company has cleaning staff). After the morning meeting, the general manager requires you to pour her some water, and then she goes to smoke (sometimes even inside the office). We have reported this to the Environmental Protection Bureau many times, but nothing has come of it.

The general manager often asks colleagues to remind her to get facials and wash her hair, as if they were her personal secretaries.

Most importantly, she attacks people personally every day and changes her orders constantly.

She goes out to lead tours as the tour leader, but calls back every day to ask the operations staff about the itinerary and restaurants. The tour-leader handovers are all fake, and the itinerary in her hands is a complete mess.

If there were a score of -100, I would give it a full negative score!!!
