They expect you to do everything. If they don’t provide resources, they still expect you to find a way to get it done. There are also more senior people who can berate the supervisor every day without facing any consequences. They only know how to take credit, and without confirming anything, they immediately report to upper management as if they were the ones who discovered it, setting traps for you to fall into (because they lack the ability and are afraid of being replaced). They give you a bunch of terrible methods, and only after you follow them do they tell you that you should have notified other departments first. Even though you clearly confirmed three times whether it could be done and received a definite answer that it could, you still get scolded. You also can’t tell the supervisor why the method suggested by the senior employee is so strange, because that person will berate you and then do everything possible to frame you. But if you don’t tell the supervisor, the supervisor will think you’re incapable of doing your job (even though all of this was taught by the senior employee). If you do tell the supervisor, they will still desperately defend that person and refuse to deal with it, giving you a bunch of lousy excuses to persuade you. If you speak up, that person berates you and makes things difficult for you; if you don’t, the supervisor thinks you’re incompetent. You can’t even ask the senior employee questions, because they will say they’re too busy and can’t finish their work because you keep asking them for help, causing them to fall behind. You end up staying until seven or eight at night every day and can’t finish your work on any day (due to insufficient ability by the standard). The supervisor simply likes this kind of person. In short, there are major problems with internal communication: things often change back and forth, problems are not handled, and they introduce new methods but are unwilling to try them. Overall, they just keep going in circles, and the product defect rate is extremely high…
Flexible working hours
Things are very restrictive here. Every single expense is accounted for in detail—even spending a few dozen dollars on behalf of the company requires strict approval. The company loves going through ERP approval procedures, making the entire organization extremely inefficient. When opening a project, the R&D direction keeps changing, and in the end, everything has to start over. The company environment is very outdated and has not been renovated internally; the hardware is poor, and the partitions are arranged in a completely haphazard manner.
Applicants for hardware R&D only have to take an intelligence test and an interview.
Those considering an alternative service position in R&D, please think twice—don’t come here and make a bad decision.
Every department here wants employees to know and be able to do everything the manager does.
That way, when they take leave,
you can do their work for them.
You’re expected to work overtime on your own initiative; otherwise, they assume you’re not serious about your work.
One department often works overtime until after 10 p.m., sometimes even 11 p.m.
There are very few employees internally,
so there’s hardly anywhere to hide even if you want to.
Those considering coming here for an alternative service position, please think twice.
You still have other companies to choose from.
1. There’s a very high chance they’ll invite you for tea during the interview
2. That’s all
Some people in the RD department have rather devious attitudes; I’ll add more later.
There’s also an interview experience post in the casual chat section that interviewees can refer to.
I’ll add some other impressions later.
There is a lot of pirated software inside the company, and both the software and hardware equipment are very outdated.
You can also take a look at the interview experience post on PTT.
Internally, it’s more or less the same as it was many years ago.
The hardware position is simply a terrible job; you don’t need to consider it.
The firmware and software positions aren’t much better.
If you can consider other companies, consider those first.
You can skip considering this small company for now.
