Pros

It’s considered a stable large company in Yunlin, and the salary is also relatively competitive.

There really are companies in Yunlin that are worse than Formosa Taffeta...

Cons

The performance evaluation system is unfair. The department stipulates that 10% of employees receive a Grade B rating, which means your year-end bonus will be reduced by 20%. The internal bureaucracy is also severe. People who do no work earn more than you, which only drives out the capable and leaves the incompetent behind. However, there really aren’t many good companies in Yunlin; after leaving this one, the only option is to move north for work.

Pros

1. Regarding salary: For Yunlin, it is considered fairly good. For graduates of national universities, the monthly salary for working the morning shift on-site is approximately NT$33K ± 2K. Those working the night shift also receive a night-shift allowance.

2. There are two types of shifts: regular day shifts and rotating shifts. The rotating shifts follow an ABC three-shift rotation. It depends on the department; some departments are more flexible and allow employees to remain on a fixed shift or rotate between only two shifts. Certain more demanding departments require employees to rotate through all three shifts.

3. Holidays and overtime: Days off are scheduled, and there are increasingly more rules. Generally, this consists of five rotating days off plus two designated days off, for a total of seven days; the rest are made up for you with overtime pay. Overtime also depends on the department: in some, whether you work overtime is entirely up to you, while others are quite strict and require employees to complete 46 hours of overtime.

Basically, the Assembly Department is the toughest and most demanding, and it also has a lot of personnel-related issues, so its turnover rate is the highest as well...
