On the day of the graphic designer interview, they didn’t even provide a pen when I was filling out the personnel information card. Fortunately, I’m used to bringing one myself.
They told me that the interviewer was unavailable and replaced them with someone else, which already left a very poor impression. It was obvious that they didn’t know they had previously asked the applicant to create a portfolio piece. After receiving the work, they kept criticizing it as poor and lacking in quality, repeatedly saying that it was “very off-brand,” yet they didn’t even know what the original sample looked like. In the original advertisement sample, the hair cutout was completely blurred and stuck together, but they criticized the applicant’s work—which included a complete and precise hair cutout—as lacking in quality.
For an advertisement sample using a large red discount percentage, I could only follow the instructions provided. I said that if they had communicated with me beforehand, I certainly could have produced the desired effect. However, the file they gave me that day only contained the title and素材, without specifying what colors to use. The instructions were unclear.
They believed that the title provided had to be presented literally, and even said, “So you just stick things on and type a few words?” This was extremely disrespectful to the profession. If it were food, would they say to a chef, “So you just cut up the ingredients and stir-fry them?”
During the interview, they repeatedly criticized me for not being from a relevant major (then why invite me to the interview?). Unless you studied visual communication design or mass communication, even if you have worked as a graphic designer, I suggest not wasting your time interviewing here.
Regarding salary, the website stated 24,000, but the actual offer was only 23,100 including perfect-attendance pay. They had to be asked why the job bank listed 24,000 before explaining that 900 was a work allowance. They also asked how late I could work overtime in the evening, whether I was taking continuing-education courses, whether I had a part-time job, and so on, suggesting that overtime may be frequent. (When asked during the interview, they said there was very little overtime and that employees left on time.)
Finally, they asked whether I thought my EQ was good and said that people in the department spoke very directly. When I asked for the supervisor’s title, they only said they were the head of the graphic design department, but also said that in practice they reported to the original interviewer, raising concerns about having multiple people giving directions.
Throughout the process, they repeatedly commented on the appearance and body shape of people in the photos, as well as my own appearance and body shape, continually asking why I looked heavier in one photo and thinner in another.
This position gives the impression of having an extremely high turnover rate. Applicants should consider carefully.
Can help develop emotional intelligence (EQ)
1. A family-owned business; the decision-makers in the online shopping department (more than one) have very outdated mindsets.
2. They are intolerant of others; if your opinion differs from theirs, they make sarcastic remarks.
3. Everyone is constantly competing to see who can be the most emotional.
4. They keep prying into your private affairs.
5. The workload is fairly heavy. Almost every week, there are three days when they give you something that must be completed the same day.
The boss cares about saving face and learned through mysterious channels that employees were saying he doesn’t give raises. He did discuss giving raises (although he does favor men over women).
The accounting computer has its network access locked.
A veteran employee accidentally revealed the bitter truth: it took ten years to get a raise......
Note: I’m a graphic designer; these pros and cons are all based on my observations, and I have never worked as an accountant at this company. Please consider the details for yourself.
The graphic design studio on the second floor is the only room with air conditioning.
A typhoon day off only counts when the supervisor notifies you, even if the government announces it.
(When you start the job, you have to sign a consent form; I don't know whether this is right or wrong.)
Pay is deducted based on the length of lateness—even five minutes results in a deduction.
