Pros

Perhaps, like police officers issuing tickets, they are under performance pressure, so they diligently crack down on attendance and dress code, as well as whether people sneak food or chat during work.

Cons

Hi, what you want are robots, not real employees who think about what is best for the company. Think about what you can do to keep turnover from being so high! You only criticize employees without knowing to reflect on your own company. Run while you can!

If it is simply an interview, the company is fairly respectable.

Cons

As mentioned just now, if you are simply going to an interview, the company seems respectable. But if you actually work here, the design of this place is truly poor.

First: The company has rooms of various sizes that, honestly, look very much like caves and do not seem like a place suitable for everyone to work in;

Second: The company has problems with both the lighting and the air conditioning. The office has no windows, so it cannot provide natural light, but the fluorescent lights are not bright enough either. On top of that, when the air conditioning breaks down, no one does anything about it, leaving employees complaining about the heat every day. How is anyone supposed to concentrate on work in such an environment? Construction is also carried out every so often, sometimes lasting for several weeks or more. Honestly, in such a high-noise environment, it would be difficult even just to sit there doing nothing, wouldn’t it?

Third: The company’s departmental layout is extremely strange. There are rooms of various sizes, but they are not assigned according to departments. Everyone in Human Resources has an individual office, but what about the other departments? All I can say is, you go wherever the company feels like assigning you.

So far I have only talked about the company’s physical environment. Now let’s discuss its systems and other matters.

Your company claims in interviews and online that its benefits system is very comprehensive, but I am sorry to say that this place is like a scam operation! Why? Because the company will not follow through on what it promises. Working here, I can only say that I feel I was tricked onto a pirate ship. Things that should have been explained clearly were not explained during the initial interview; instead, all kinds of strange demands appeared on the day I was hired. For example, the company has uniform days. Those without uniforms must wear a white shirt with black trousers and black shoes. This was never mentioned in the interview or online; you are only told on the day you are hired. The requirements for attire are also extremely strict. Even for office staff, I doubt a river ghost searching for someone to replace it works that diligently. It is baffling that a company can be so strict about dress regulations while failing to focus on what truly deserves attention.

Next, the allocation of authority here is very strange. After the boss, the person with the most power is the HR manager?! This is a monarchy, without exaggeration: whatever the company wants you to do, you are expected to do it, with no room for negotiation or discussion. Even when employees offer suggestions and hope the company can change in a way that benefits both sides, the company will not accept them, because the boss believes that right is right and wrong is wrong—there is nothing to discuss. The HR manager once said: “What color is the sky? It is neither black nor blue; whatever color the boss says it is, that is the color it is!” Ridiculous, right? If I didn’t know better, I would think Hitler was my leader!

If the company wants you dead, you die; if the company wants you to go on a business trip, you go. It does not need to give you a clear reason. As long as they say it is “training,” you have to go. As for what training you will receive there, the company will not provide any clear official notice or itinerary; it simply tells you verbally. Anyone with normal judgment would be completely confused and start questioning the company. What happens if you refuse to go? The company fires you, on the grounds that you are unable to meet its requirements. I used to think that when any company sends an employee on a business trip, it is because the company trusts them and believes they are capable of handling the assignment. Here, however, they just find someone willing to cooperate with the business trip, regardless of who it is. As for the consequences, I will say no more. I once raised this concern with a manager, but the response was: “We are different from ordinary companies.” All right, different from ordinary companies—does that sound novel? Whether that is good or bad, everyone can judge for themselves.

Can you learn anything at this company? No, because management will not accept better ideas. The boss clearly does not value employees; the fact that the boss habitually arrives late even when calling everyone to an impromptu meeting is enough to demonstrate that. Of course, the company can have its own position, but it should also respect employees’ time and the commitments it has made. From your very first day at the company, it instills one idea in you: you cannot come to the company to learn, and you cannot make friends.

Direct-sales companies always tell everyone, “We are different from ordinary direct-sales companies,” but in the end they merely prove one fact: worshipping the supreme leader is an unavoidable part of working for a direct-sales company. Naturally, this place is no exception.

Pros

The company environment is fairly clean.

Cons

If you are a recent graduate entering the workforce, I recommend choosing another company, where you will have more room to develop. If you are taking on a managerial role, the situation is even less ideal. The reason is that unless you can follow the boss’s opinions in every respect—without considering market responses or marketing aspects, and caring only about the boss’s likes and dislikes—it will not work. In my opinion, aside from practicing how to exclude these factors that are clearly very important and worth considering, your growth in other areas at this company will likely be extremely slow (especially in managerial positions). Employees at the management level have to spend a great deal of time attending meetings with largely repetitive content, and the boss is frequently late—almost always by at least an hour (and arriving even later or suddenly canceling is also very common). The company often requires employees to follow certain rules in the name of education (such as not making friends and returning to the center), but in substance there is nothing worthwhile to learn; it is simply excessively fixated on things that are fundamentally unimportant. In addition, the HR manager at this company can intervene in the affairs of other departments despite lacking expertise in those areas. Therefore, if you expect the company’s departmental authorities to be clearly delineated, this company does not meet that expectation either.

What is there to improve? It’s beyond saving. Don’t come here under any circumstances—it’s a waste of your life!

The HR assistant doesn’t even understand the Labor Standards Act—what kind of HR is that?

They fake clock-ins all day, really arrive late, and still help employees calculate their absences.

I don’t know whether the HR manager is full of shit or what.

The boss’s wife spends all day organizing the same old bullshit activities—pretending they’re for charity when they’re really just money-making schemes. She edits her photos so much that even when the real person shows up, you can’t recognize her. Every time she appears on a TV program, I think the television is broken. It’s only after switching channels that I realize the problem isn’t the TV.

Do all bosses’ wives in direct sales look like this?

For fuck’s sake, I’d rather eat instant noodles.
