Position: Art Designer

The work is basically graphic design, display, and other fundamental tasks.

When setting up a new store counter, I was asked to draw an interior design plan. That was honestly a bit excessive~

However, this was work requested by the boss, so I could tolerate it—after all, they were paying my salary.

This position mainly works with Marketing. Every month, we have to produce promotional copy, which Marketing provides.

Marketing’s outrageous behavior:

1. They always wait until the very last moment to produce the copy.

2. Sometimes, when I ask them something, they reply, “Why would you ask me about this?” (Speechless ==

3. They always have a top-down attitude, yet go around saying, “I’m not your supervisor”???

4. They spend every workday eating from morning until the end of the day, scrolling on their phones, online shopping, and chatting, then turn around and say that I’m slacking off. (Who exactly is slacking off???

5. They assign anything they don’t want to do to others, and somehow everything is always someone else’s fault.

6. Then they badmouth you behind your back, saying all sorts of things and making you sound absolutely terrible.

7. At first, they say they’ll handle something, then tell others that you’re not proactive. (Would it have been so difficult to just tell me to do it from the start?

I’m sorry, but I can’t work with someone who flaunts the banner of Marketing while swindling their way around.

If you consider yourself a demon-slaying master who can handle this princess-syndrome, low-EQ menace~

then hurry up and join this company~

Pros

A NT$1,000 raise every year

NT$500 monthly employee shopping credit

Employee purchases at 25% off

Cons

The working environment is terrible. It’s in an old office building, and the restroom is shared by the entire floor—it’s dirty, smelly, and disgusting.

I’m responsible for visual and art design, but the work is ridiculously miscellaneous. Aside from the basic duties, I also handle graphic design and counter-display design.

When opening a new counter, they actually required me to draw interior design plans!?

I also have to coordinate with the department store’s internal staff, supervise various construction sites, and handle all kinds of applications for what-the-heck fire-retardant certificates.

I also have to take on some marketing work: posting on Facebook and Instagram every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and helping marketing create product PPTs!?

On top of that, the boss is extremely stingy, constantly demanding outrageous price cuts from vendors and then leaving invoices unpaid, causing us to be hounded by vendors for payment all the time. It’s incredibly embarrassing. Whenever something happens, the boss pretends nothing is wrong, acts like they’re not there, and pushes employees out to take the bullets. They have absolutely no sense of responsibility.

The most outrageous thing of all is this! Since the company doesn’t pay overtime, overtime is compensated with time off. Typhoon days off are deducted from that compensatory leave; if you don’t have any compensatory leave, they deduct annual leave. Once your annual leave is used up, they force you to take personal leave, and then deduct NT$2,000 from your perfect-attendance bonus!!! You read that right—NT$2,000, on top of the deduction for personal leave. Truly outstanding~~

As someone responsible for notifying candidates about interviews, their attitude was extremely poor. When I asked whether the interview could be rescheduled, their tone was extremely rude. It would be one thing if they had a bad attitude, but they even hung up the phone directly.

I don't know what that was supposed to mean.

People invited to interview with this kind of attitude should think twice.

Pros

For each full year of employment from 1 to 3 years, the monthly salary increases by 1,000.

Cons

I interviewed for the position of visual art designer. The monthly salary for this position is 30K during the three-month probationary period and 33K after passing the probationary period.

This is a replacement position; the previous employee left after developing a severe case of cellulitis.

Each quarter, you must travel to department store locations throughout the country to arrange window displays and counters. Setup can only begin after 23:00.

Overtime can only be exchanged for compensatory leave and cannot be paid as overtime.

Because I do not want to return to a life of working myself to exhaustion, I decided not to consider the position.

Not paying overtime is illegal, so please excuse me for giving this company a poor rating.
