The working environment is terrible. It’s in an old office building, and the restroom is shared by the entire floor—it’s dirty, smelly, and disgusting.
I’m responsible for visual and art design, but the work is ridiculously miscellaneous. Aside from the basic duties, I also handle graphic design and counter-display design.
When opening a new counter, they actually required me to draw interior design plans!?
I also have to coordinate with the department store’s internal staff, supervise various construction sites, and handle all kinds of applications for what-the-heck fire-retardant certificates.
I also have to take on some marketing work: posting on Facebook and Instagram every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and helping marketing create product PPTs!?
On top of that, the boss is extremely stingy, constantly demanding outrageous price cuts from vendors and then leaving invoices unpaid, causing us to be hounded by vendors for payment all the time. It’s incredibly embarrassing. Whenever something happens, the boss pretends nothing is wrong, acts like they’re not there, and pushes employees out to take the bullets. They have absolutely no sense of responsibility.
The most outrageous thing of all is this! Since the company doesn’t pay overtime, overtime is compensated with time off. Typhoon days off are deducted from that compensatory leave; if you don’t have any compensatory leave, they deduct annual leave. Once your annual leave is used up, they force you to take personal leave, and then deduct NT$2,000 from your perfect-attendance bonus!!! You read that right—NT$2,000, on top of the deduction for personal leave. Truly outstanding~~
