Pros

1. Large seats

2. Dual monitors

Cons

1. The salary is relatively low.

2. The position is subject to a responsibility-based work system, with no overtime pay or compensatory leave.

3. Although there are quite a few benefits, they all come from forcibly deducting 5% of your salary every month, which they won’t tell you about during the interview.

4. The product’s code is very messy and has few comments or documents. Managers just tell you to figure everything out on your own.

5. Schedules are often estimated arbitrarily, frequently resulting in overtime. If you can’t finish the work, they blame it on your abilities, when in reality the entire team is often working overtime.

6. The annual salary is only guaranteed for 12 months; when business conditions are poor, you might not receive an annual bonus.

7. The chairs are extremely uncomfortable, and more than one-third of the employees bring their own chairs to the office.

8. There are many meetings every week, most of which are meaningless.

The supervisor carefully reviewed your résumé during the interview and asked relevant questions.

Cons

Offering peanuts while looking for a lion: low salary and few benefits, yet expecting you to be highly capable and stand out.

Pros

Both the interviewing manager and the front desk receptionist were very polite!

The interview focused appropriately on the work-related content and circumstances.

The questions were quite detailed, and the interviewer had clearly reviewed the questionnaire answers that applicants were asked to return before asking questions.

(Some companies require you to return a bunch of information but do not mention any of it during the interview.)

They also prepared questions in advance based on my past background and asked me about them.

I could tell that the manager had prepared questions.

It may also have been an internal SOP requiring certain questions to be asked!

However, the questions were not very formulaic; they felt quite specifically designed for me.

Even if I ultimately did not receive an offer, or if the salary offered was lower than expected, the manager left a good impression during the interview, and the company's overall image was positive.

It was still a good interview experience!

Cons

The form the company asked me to return did not include the names of family members, and I only disclosed part of my address.

During the interview, I was asked why I had not filled in that information.

I replied that if I joined the company in the future and the information was needed for its records, I would be willing to provide it then.

However, the interviewing manager looked somewhat unhappy.

Before the interview, I was also asked to sign a personal data consent form.

It stated that I agreed to the company using my personal data for this interview.

However, I have the right to choose whether to provide this personal information.

I believe that looking for a job has nothing to do with whether I provide the names of my family members or my address.

If a certificate of no criminal record or a credit report were required, or if I were asked whether I had relatives working at the company, I feel that this information could be directly requested and provided.

But in Taiwan, the environment seems to assume that people do not consider their personal data important and will simply hand it over.

Employers may even find it strange if you do not fill in the information.

So if I did not receive an offer because of this, I would not feel it was a pity.

Basically, the manager's expression immediately fell when they heard my response.

That was why I found it inexplicable and came up with all these thoughts above.

However, the manager did not mention the matter again afterward.
