Pros

Parking lot attendant work

When there is no particularly demanding business, the daily workload is relatively light, consisting mostly of cleaning and cashier duties.

Cons

When applying, they only said the job involved simple cashier and cleaning duties.

In reality, the parking lot walls had extensive mold damage, and the attendant had to paint them. When a customer damaged the parking lot, the attendant had to report it to the police, negotiate compensation with the customer, and find ways to repair the walls. The attendant also had to operate the cash register, and repair the automatic payment machine when it broke down.

When the surveillance camera broke, the attendant had to find a way to deal with it.

When the entrance or exit machine broke, the attendant had to find a way to deal with it.

When an angry customer blocked the entrance or exit with their car, the attendant had to find a way to deal with it.

The parking lot attendant works alone. To avoid paying the attendant for handover time between attendants,

the company required employees to arrive at work fifteen minutes early and leave fifteen minutes early. It also required employees to fill out their attendance cards in the manner specified by the company, making it easier for them to evade inspections by the labor authorities.

When I discovered that the company had underpaid double wages for national holidays and that the company had underreported my wages for labor and health insurance, I raised the issue with the company.

They used my leaving early as a reason and fired me.

Cons

I went to the management office of the second parking lot at Songshan Airport for an interview. While observing the facilities on the premises, I found them to be extremely outdated. As soon as I entered, I was asked to fill out a stack of documents, including a consent form agreeing to have the cost of the uniform deducted from my salary, personnel information, an employment contract, and a form stating that there was no labor insurance. I asked the supervisor why the uniform cost was deducted from the salary and pointed out that it was illegal. The supervisor shamelessly replied, “The user pays.” Anyone who looks it up online will know that this is plainly illegal. The company requires employees to wear uniforms to work, yet expects employees to pay out of their own pockets? How strong does their submissiveness have to be?

From the supervisor’s response and the documents employees were required to fill out, I noticed that the company was very adept at making unfair deductions from employees’ pay. I immediately declined the interview for the position. The supervisor instantly changed his attitude and rudely drove me out, repeatedly saying, “Go, go, go,” and telling me to leave as soon as possible. This shows that the company’s staff are not of particularly good quality. I can only say that I was fortunate to notice the warning signs early and avoid mistakenly entering this terrible place.
