If the company had remained the same over the past few years, do you think it would have been able to hold on until now? Think about it.

Pros

The salary is good

Cons

They take advantage of employees.

Everything operates under a results-based responsibility system: you are not allowed to leave until your work is finished, but they also require employees who have not applied for overtime to leave on time. Even if you apply for overtime, they may not approve it, yet they still require you to present results the next day—effectively requiring you to take your work home.

They will threaten you with deductions from your salary, year-end bonus, and all other bonuses if you do not perform well.

The company accountant is very harsh and mean, apparently a Ms. Wang. Once, I accidentally lost my wallet and was already very worried about having to complete a lot of procedures and ask the company for leave. The accountant showed no sympathy and told me that I had to pay the company NT$1,000—only then could they issue me a new access card.

There is also a Mr. Fan who specializes in 3D design. He is always slacking off at work, loves gossiping, and likes to give new employees a hard time.

Pros

1. As long as you are persuasive enough in the interview, there is considerable room to negotiate your starting salary (but the increases after joining are not substantial, and it is also difficult to work overtime)

2. Employee benefits are okay

3. There are foreign colleagues, so you can practice your English communication skills in your daily work

4. People who enjoy challenging tasks, or who are not intimidated by authority and hierarchies and are good at communication, can give it a try (it can improve your problem-solving skills)

5. The architect is very welcoming to returning employees (but when she is in a good mood, she may sarcastically remind you that you once resigned)

6. There is a senior manager who is (probably) unlikely to resign and is very reliable (but she is busy—really, extremely busy)

Cons

1. The frequent changes in decisions and directives are very noticeable (although this may be caused by the high turnover in personnel)

2. Your friends leave just like that... relationships among colleagues at the company are distant

3. The architect really treats employees as tools for keeping the company running (so they will be replaced when they break down)

Pros

1. Starting salaries for newcomers are above average

2. The office space is organized like that of a medium-to-large company

3. Snacks, tea, refreshments, and coffee are provided on a regular basis

4. The administrative staff are all very attractive and friendly

5. If you decide to resign, the procedures can be completed very quickly and you can leave the company

Cons

1. The architect has a very bad temper and may forget things they previously instructed

2. As mentioned above, but you must not question the architect

3. If you lack seniority, the architect will not pay any attention to you at all, treating what you say as if it were air and refusing to look you in the eye, except when reprimanding you

4. You must make an appointment to review drawings with the architect; even after making an appointment, it may suddenly be moved earlier or later

5. The architect does not treat employees as people; in their eyes, you are merely tools

6. To the architect, assigning five people to a project means five people— they will not care even if four of the five are newcomers. If you have not met their target by the deadline, it is your problem, and you should expect to be berated

7. As mentioned above, many experienced managers or senior colleagues have left because they could not withstand the workload and the architect’s unreasonable deadlines

8. The drawing deadlines imposed by the architect are usually extremely urgent or unreasonable

9. You need to be mentally prepared to be disliked and blacklisted by a certain PM, and to be frequently yelled at or looked down on

10. You need to understand that, as a newcomer, you cannot leave work too punctually

11. If you leave work too punctually for a period of time, or if you attract the attention of a certain PM, you need to be prepared to be fired at any time

12. If HR asks to meet with you and says that the boss wants to fire you, remember to request severance pay and a certificate of involuntary separation

13. Overtime pay usually has to be reviewed by the architect; it will be approved only if they consider the work urgent or necessary

14. As mentioned above, overtime added because they consider it a problem with your own abilities will not be approved

15. However, your clock-out record will still show that you left not long after 6:30 p.m.

Summary:

The company’s designer headcount once reached around 40 at its peak; currently, there are only a little over 10 left.

Only around four mid- to senior-level employees with more than three years of experience remain; everyone else is either a newcomer with a little over one year of experience or has been there for less than a year.

The work atmosphere is oppressive, depending on the architect’s mood and whether they are present at the office.

If you have heard of Ziwen and know Dayan, then the next one is Chuanzong.

Hmm... this company already had many negative reviews on Tiānyǎntōng before the outage.

No typhoon days off!!! Even when the government issues a typhoon warning and suspends work and classes, you still have to go in!!

Otherwise, it counts as taking leave and your pay will be deducted.

Pros

Not a small company.

Cons

Extremely high turnover, and the atmosphere is quite strange. In just two months, 10 of the 12 employees hired as new recruits have already left……
