Pros

Leaving work on time

Cons

Compensation and benefits: In recent years, the year-end bonus has effectively dwindled to nothing. The company seems to think that a few hundred dollars in raises are enough to win people over, following a very laissez-faire approach to pay increases.

Loss of senior employees: Quite a few experienced colleagues have gradually left, raising concerns about talent retention.

Internal factions: Whether you have a supervisor backing you seems to make all the difference. Without a patron, you feel as if you’ve been banished to the cold palace, with palace intrigue playing out every day.

HR team: Most of the staff are newcomers, and they are left to fend for themselves.

Intrusive interview questions: The parachuted-in HR manager frequently asked about family members, their jobs, and the parents’ circumstances. Was this an interview or a household census? The relevance to the position was perplexing.

Interview professionalism: The company’s benefits were barely explained, while the supervisor shared plenty of personal experiences. It felt more like attending a personal lecture, while the information I actually wanted to know was nowhere to be heard.

Concerns about age discrimination: The hiring manager repeatedly questioned my age. Before my professional abilities had even been discussed in depth, my age had already been scrutinized several times.

Dress code that seems stuck in another era: Although the company is located in Neihu Technology Park, where the surrounding tech industry has long embraced casual attire, the company insists that male employees wear formal clothing. It is as if the company is still living in the last century. Especially when stepping outside during lunch and walking among tech workers in T-shirts and jeans, you feel like a real-estate agent who accidentally wandered into a technology expo. The management mindset is simply out of step with the times.
