I worked as an assembly worker at the company’s temperature-controlled center. I initially thought it would simply involve assembly, but it turned out to cover almost everything: fetching materials, removing outer packaging, assembly, repackaging, and then taking the materials to the warehouse for shipment. Only three people handled all of these tasks. Now, because of orders from semiconductor plants, we have to assemble more than ten to over twenty temperature-controlled units every day. If we cannot finish, we have to work overtime to meet the deadlines, and we also have to endure verbal bullying from engineers. They even tell you, “I’m just more direct when I speak; I mean no harm.” They claim this job is easy and comfortable, and that no one will bother you if you use your phone when there are no machines to assemble—I have never experienced that. The duties mentioned above do not even include adding coolant for certain models or dismantling wooden crates for large machines; all of this is within your scope of work. The sales department keeps accepting orders frantically without caring whether the staff below can actually complete them. The scheduling staff and assembly team leader also have no effective solutions. The work area is cramped and extremely messy, and the only place to rest is a small round table. There is not even a break room. The restroom reeks, and even the cleaning lady only comes to collect the trash once every several days. There is a one-hour lunch break, but no additional break time in the morning or afternoon. You have to pay for your own meals at lunchtime and when working overtime in the evening. I had had enough after not even a month. Those who think they can withstand this are welcome to give it a try.
