To work there, you’d better be psychic and have extremely high stress tolerance. There’s no hope whether dealing with those above or below you.
Regarding those above me—my direct supervisor: during the first two months, the phrase they said to me most often was, “I’m busy. Ask someone else.”
Case 1: They could have explained the complete workflow to me, but refused to say anything. Then, two months later, they dug up the old issue and said I hadn’t done it. I told them no one had said it needed to be done, and they replied, “You didn’t ask.” Was I supposed to be psychic? When I had just arrived, you didn’t even explain the work properly.
Case 2: They asked me all day to inquire with others about work I had never done before. Every day, they wanted me to ask other people what the work involved. When I went to ask, they also thought it was ridiculous—nothing had even been done on-site yet, so what was I supposed to ask?
Case 3: They asked me to write emails all day. If there had actually been work-related content, I would have accepted it, but there was clearly nothing going on, and they still kept taunting me, saying, “I wonder why you haven’t written any emails.”
Later, for some reason, they suddenly said that a certain task required me to send an email to request a change. I checked, and it had already been changed two weeks earlier. What was I supposed to write? They then bluntly said, “You’re screwed out there. No one can save you.” After that, until the day I resigned, they never said another word to me. No wonder no one wants this position when someone like this is the supervisor.
Regarding those below me—the deputy team leader acted as if I owed them millions. They complained about everything all day. When they saw other people, it seemed like anything I did or wanted was wrong. All the tools and fixtures were kept by them, so I had to borrow everything from them. It was truly like being treated as a dog.
Everyone there manages only their own area. No one helps, and asking is useless. You have to be psychic and fearless to go in.
