This was the first time I had ever encountered an interview that started at 9:30 and still had not ended by 12:30. The HR department was very unprofessional. Since they clearly knew the interview would take that long, they should have notified the interviewee in advance so that those with other arrangements could feel more at ease. Apparently, they do not care about their employer brand.
Before the interview, I was asked to fill out and return basic information, including some extremely private questions.
The general manager conducted the group interview (initial interview). Even part-time positions require an interview with the general manager. The general manager should be doing the general manager’s job; otherwise, why hire employees at all?
They kept emphasizing that it was a responsibility-based system, and even said that AI is very advanced nowadays, so there is no need to learn too much because you can just ask AI and it will know everything. Oh my goodness—the leader actually said this. Don’t they know that AI can confidently talk nonsense? If you have no knowledge, how can you distinguish right from wrong or develop critical thinking? A leader like this is somewhat frightening.
The interviewer for the second interview was even better. Before the interview, they had already briefly asked me about things over the phone, but then asked the same questions again during the interview. Seriously, don’t you take any notes? This was truly unprofessional. Also, was the company actually interviewing me, or were they just trying to meet a KPI? This company is a real disaster.
