An IT department position that is actually a mix of “system operations and maintenance + user support + administrative tasks + some development.”
The day-to-day work leans heavily toward miscellaneous duties and handling ad hoc matters.
Basically, once you join, you’ll be expected to do everything, while everyone else is responsible for supervising you.
Do not disclose personal information, interests, or hobbies in casual conversations with anyone from HR, management, colleagues in the same department, or colleagues from the administrative departments on the 7th floor.
⚙️ Work Situation
Division of responsibilities is unclear, and work boundaries are ambiguous.
There is no comprehensive handover or SOP.
Tasks are often adjusted at short notice, requiring you to fill in as needed.
You have to figure out solutions to system problems on your own.
(Beneficial if you are good at reading between the lines.)
👤 Management Style
Instructions may not always be complete, so you have to interpret them on your own.
Evaluation criteria are relatively flexible (and may change depending on the situation).
You are expected to absorb the communication costs yourself.
(What is right or wrong is subject to others’ subjective judgment.)
⚠️ Recommendations
During the interview, be sure to confirm:
Whether the role genuinely includes information engineering-related responsibilities
The scope of work and evaluation criteria
Whether there is a clear handover and training process
This role is more suitable for people who can accept an ambiguous environment and adjust independently.
If you prefer clear systems and an engineering-oriented role, evaluate carefully.
