Year-end bonuses always go to people with connections, not based on ability.
There is not even basic respect or courtesy for senior employees. They casually reshuffle business territories at will; wherever they tell you to go, you have to go. You have to be more obedient than a dog. It is the same whether or not you are a manager, because you are not one of their own. Incompetent people become senior managers—no wonder they cannot retain anyone.
As soon as it is time to hand out year-end bonuses, they bite wildly like mad dogs. It is not even much money, so I really do not know what they are acting so smug about.
