Pros

Very easy to take time off

Cons

Only people without ability stay at this kind of company, including those who return after leaving; everyone capable has left.

My suggestion is to treat this company only as a stepping stone or temporary stopgap. Most of the long-serving employees here are waiting for retirement, while the supervisors merely do the bare minimum to get by—doing less means making fewer mistakes. Whenever there is a customer complaint, lower-level employees are always the first to be punished. Aside from promotion announcements, the reward system provides virtually no meaningful encouragement.

The production line has no comprehensive employee training. Once you start, you are simply thrown into the job. If you work slowly, even foreign workers will look down on you; if you work quickly, you will be assigned more exhausting tasks. Once you tell your supervisor that you are too tired and want to change positions, they will only say “okay,” and then let the matter drop. If the production line’s shipping speed slows down, the boss will hold them accountable, so they do everything they can to avoid responsibility. They have no intention of improving conditions for or showing consideration toward employees.

Also, even though you are officially listed as an employee of Unit A, you are constantly required to support Unit B, which has been chronically understaffed and is a terrible assignment. One person does two jobs, without receiving double pay, and the perfect-attendance bonus has also been removed. They often complain that they cannot retain people and cannot recruit anyone, which is truly baffling.

Do they really think that, when even high salaries are not necessarily enough to attract people nowadays, offering low pay along with such terrible policies and working conditions means their company is somehow wonderful? @_@ Jobs like packaging, which pay only a basic starting wage, require employees to move items weighing over 70 kilograms more than 100 times a day, and they still complain that people work too slowly. They do not treat the people who stay properly, constantly assuming that there will always be more people they can hire. They have no intention of operating sustainably; they simply squeeze whatever little they can out of employees.

They even say that it is difficult to find workers nowadays and that anyone who can breathe is employable.

They say such disrespectful things without the slightest shame, as if they think they are very clever. What do the employees around them think? Didn’t their parents or teachers teach them what their position is and what they should say?

They often say that foreign workers are willing to work and work overtime, and are very useful for providing support. But have they ever considered that after working in Taiwan for five or six years or more, foreign workers may be able to buy land and build a house in their own countries? In contrast, Taiwanese people working in this low-wage environment for 10 or 15 years cannot even afford to buy a bathroom in southern Taiwan. Of course they would rather leave work on time and use their time to plan their own lives; they do not need to spend their entire lives at this company, because this company has looked down on Taiwanese people from the beginning.

In addition, with the declining birth rate, nearly 70–80% of the manufacturing industry is expected to collapse over the next 10 years. It really is only a matter of time. ^^
