Cons

The following content is purely something I dreamed about in the middle of the night; any resemblance is purely coincidental:

1. A cost-saving approach to managing expenses: The company obtained an issued ISO certificate despite not meeting the requirements of the clauses. When I raised questions with the section manager, they said I was making a mountain out of a molehill and that there was no need to waste money just to save expenses......

2. The spirit of selfless dedication: Starting work at 08:20, taking a 50-minute lunch break, and finishing work at 17:30. Because there are 10-minute breaks in both the morning and afternoon, continuing to work when tasks remain unfinished means contributing 20 minutes of unpaid work every day $$

3. Training in life philosophy: New employees must watch a certain Japanese TV drama episode or film (2–3 hours) and write a reflection, because the boss believes the spirit of inheritance in the video aligns with their philosophy of passing the company on to the young boss @@

4. An inspiring quality slogan: The quality policy established each year (國睦三環) is printed on small cards, and employees are required to remember (recite) the content. I heard that at the all-employee meeting held every two months, new employees have a high chance of being randomly called on for a spot check!!

5. A highly efficient way of working: When the sales team receives an English form from an agent, the section manager forwards the email and asks someone to translate it into Chinese. It can only be filled out after providing it to senior management to discuss and confirm the meaning in a meeting ^^

6. A healthy habit of drinking more water: No beverages may be placed on the desk. If you really want to drink something, pour it into a thermos to disguise it, or hide it under the desk?!

7. Strengthening information-security awareness: Whenever leaving your seat, you must turn off the computer screen. Someone conducts random inspections and assigns scores. I heard this is required by U.S. law??

8. An attitude aimed at preventing slacking off: Communication software (such as Line) cannot be installed on company computers. Installation requires the section manager’s approval, and employees are also expected to use their phones as little as possible during work hours.

9. A clean and tidy work environment: Every Wednesday at 16:30, everyone must clean for about 30 minutes. Each person is assigned a different area. I heard that the boss had previously complained that the cleaning was not thorough.

10. A sense of mission in holding multiple roles: The actual job duties differ from what was discussed in the interview. The section manager pressures people into serving as the department administrative assistant, helping other colleagues with expense claims and reimbursements, leave requests, warehouse material requisitions, and creating material numbers. Access to the certificates is restricted, so they are not allowed to view them.

11. The wordplay involved: The interview did not mention an assistant position. The offer letter and onboarding contract state “Level 3 Specialist,” but only after starting work did I learn that “Level 3 Specialist” actually means assistant. Despite having at least three years of relevant experience, I was inexplicably assigned a lower rank.

12. After waking up from this dream-like experience, I was called to a meeting room for a discussion. HR could not understand why I requested certificate access, why I could not simultaneously serve as an administrative assistant, or why I cared about my job-title level. In the end, HR said that, in accordance with the Labor Standards Act, they would proceed with termination on the grounds that I was “unable to perform the work adequately.”
