There is nothing that could be called an advantage.
Even though I told my supervisor that I needed to postpone my start date by one week because of a family matter, they insisted that I start earlier on the grounds that a handover was needed. I subsequently took one week of personal leave, and HR used this as the reason to extend my probationary period by another three months.
Factional and departmental infighting is extremely serious. Everyone wants to shift the blame onto new employees, yet no one teaches them. The supposedly comprehensive training consisted of attending classes every day during the first week, but it could not be applied to actual work. Meanwhile, the actual workload was simply impossible to finish.
There are meetings every day—meetings, meetings. The only time left to do real work is after hours. Some of the senior employees rush off at the end of the day, while others deceive the company to claim overtime pay.
One colleague got into a traffic accident while working overtime on a Saturday, and the supervisor was completely unconcerned. When another colleague took leave because their child was sick and hospitalized, the supervisor even bet with other subordinates on whether that colleague would show up for work. What kind of mindset is that?
Is the idea that other people's children can never die?
In short, it is an old company stuck in the feudal era.
