Brief stay
《The Escape Garden》
In a corner of the city stands a building known as a “modern transformation base.” Outsiders always assume it is a resource-rich paradise, capable of bringing about an innovative future; many young people have even entered it carrying passion and dreams.
Yet only those who truly enter understand that it is not a paradise, but a modern-day Lanruo Temple.
Here, a powerful “Old Granny” holds absolute authority. She controls all resources, and everyone and everything must survive by attaching themselves to her will. At Granny’s side are several loyal lackeys. Skilled at flattery and ingratiation, they hold power in their hands and roam the corridors like ghosts, deciding who may stay and who should be driven out.
Granny also keeps a group of enforcers—they wear no armor and carry no weapons, but every word they speak is a blade, and every smile conceals poison. Anyone who harbors dissent is immediately manipulated and divided by them until they are isolated, helpless, and unable to recover.
A few years ago, under the banners of “digital transformation” and “system revamp,” Granny summoned a large group of newcomers full of hope. Those newcomers thought they would create the future, never realizing that this was merely a scheme to lure the gods into the urn. The enforcers exploited every opening and suppressed them, destroying them one by one. In the end, this fresh blood either collapsed and left of its own accord or was driven into becoming little more than walking corpses.
What remained was not talent, but an atmosphere of desolation and eerie strangeness.
In outsiders’ eyes, the building remains brightly lit, like a garden that never goes dark. But those who know what is really happening call it the “Escape Garden”—a place where, once you step inside, you must decide:
If you are confident in your ability to slay demons and banish evil, you may be able to make it through this labyrinth;
if not, leave quickly, because the flowers here are not peach blossoms, but flowers that claim the soul.
From time to time, people hear whispers coming from the depths of the corridors and the meeting rooms, sounding at once like arguments and laments. Some say they are the lingering resentful spirits of those newcomers, warning those who come after them—
This is not a paradise. This is Lanruo Temple.
