Cons

Eclat Textile Co., Ltd.—Xizhou Plant—Printing Department is truly the worst-managed workplace I have ever worked at internally.

The supervisor’s management abilities are seriously problematic, they treat newcomers poorly, workplace bullying is severe, and there is no unified internal SOP... among other issues.

As a young person who has just entered the workforce, I really do not know or understand much, and I came to this workplace with an attitude of wanting to learn.

But I have never seen any workplace require newly hired employees to “not take notes and only rely on their memory.”

It sounds absurd, but that is exactly what happened to me. When I asked why I couldn’t take notes,

my supervisor mocked me, saying, “This stuff is so simple—you can just remember it. Why do you have to write notes?”

I don’t know whether the information here is some kind of national secret or classified document.

I was only writing down how to operate the machines because I was genuinely afraid I would forget. If I operated them incorrectly and caused a machine breakdown, wouldn’t that be even more troublesome?

I wanted to do things well, yet my supervisor scolded me, saying I was “like a robot that only knows how to follow procedures rigidly.”

Every time I took out my notebook to record the operating procedures for the various machines, I was scolded again.

I admit that I do not learn very quickly and that it takes me longer to understand things.

That is why I wanted to take notes to help me remember, and so I could review them if I forgot something at the time.

But my supervisor and other colleagues left me completely confused.

Everyone operated the machines according to completely different SOPs. When I asked what the differences were, all they could say was, “Doing it their way is the most correct way”???

When I learned the supervisor’s SOP, colleague A scolded me; when I learned colleague A’s SOP, colleague B scolded me; when I learned colleague B’s SOP, colleague C scolded me.

In the end, I chose to learn according to the supervisor’s SOP, but I was still scolded by the supervisor, who asked, “Who taught you that?” Wasn’t it you who taught me?

May I ask: Is someone with amnesia being put in charge as the supervisor? Is there really no problem with this department?

The colleagues’ fake kindness aside—I am only here to work, after all.

But the internal management of the workplace is a complete mess, with absolutely no order.

I asked the supervisor where the SOP documents were because I wanted to take a look. The supervisor replied, “There are no SOPs established here.”

When I asked why they had not established any, I was looked at with an expression that seemed to say, “You’re a newcomer who has just entered the workforce—do you think you can tell me what to do?”

..

There are actually many more things I could say, but I will stop here.

I don’t know whether all Eclat Textile Company locations hire supervisors like this.

But I encountered one in the Printing Department at the Xizhou Plant. It was obvious that the supervisor looked down on newcomers and wanted to make things difficult for them.
