Very relaxed; the pay is just about okay.
1. The hierarchy is very pronounced, and supervisors in the unit target new employees. When I first arrived, I had nightmares every night.
2. Anyone who is too efficient would probably be driven crazy here. The work atmosphere feels slow-paced and like a place to coast until retirement. For example, something that could easily be confirmed with a simple message has to be turned into a long, pointless meeting where everyone sits down so the senior managers can give lengthy lectures and make their presence felt.
3. Why do the senior managers need to make their presence felt? Because normally they do not manage anything at all. They can draw a high salary while shifting all the responsibility onto their subordinates. How convenient for them—bravo.
