I didn’t submit an application; the company proactively sent me an interview invitation. Since it wasn’t too far from home, I thought I’d schedule a time. However, the contact person was extremely inconsistent about replying to messages. They waited until I had already scheduled interviews with other companies before suddenly trying to cut in line. After I explained the situation and once again provided the times I was available, I was met with another round of inconsistent replies, followed by another sudden attempt to cut in line—an endless vicious cycle. In the end, the contact person even lashed out in frustration: “Never mind, never mind. Apply when you actually want to come work for our company!”

Uh... let’s get this straight. First, I wasn’t the one who applied in the first place. Second, the employer’s time isn’t the only time that matters—the job seeker’s time matters too. There’s an order of who came first for a reason. How could I possibly cancel an appointment I had already made just to let your company cut in line whenever it pleased? In the end, whose values are the problem here?
