Working hours are very flexible. After clocking in at 9:00, many colleagues head downstairs to buy breakfast and coffee, and some even go to buy lunch before 11:30 a.m. Every five years of service, employees receive a long-service gold medal at the year-end banquet. The chairman personally places it around the employee’s neck onstage.

The office building has only five elevators, making it difficult to move 500–600 people in and out during commuting hours. Waiting for an elevator takes a long time and often causes people to be late. There are lots of cockroaches and rats. Overtime pay cannot be claimed; the company only gives you an overtime meal box. The company employs many idle people, while only a few actually do the work. The manager of the Administration Department, Sam, is very emotional. He handles many things poorly and is also very good at shifting blame. He has even threatened and intimidated subordinates and cursed at them using profanity. There is no prize draw at the year-end banquet, and the company always holds it on Thursday evening—probably because it does not want employees to drink too much, since they still have to work on Friday. The food at the banquet restaurant is neither filling nor particularly good, so many employees do not want to attend.
