Pros

The interview itself did not present any particular problems.

Cons

Production Line X Team Leader

The male team leader is extremely womanlike, nags constantly, and can be emotional at times. He always wears a sour expression. His department cannot retain employees and is constantly replacing people. He does not chat much with colleagues; aside from handling work, he hardly talks with anyone privately. He basically keeps to himself. Extremely rigid and inflexible. Unbearable.

When I worked with a new colleague, our productivity was too low.

I told the new employee to take her time and work steadily. I wanted her to do the job well before asking her to increase her output. The team leader then went to watch the surveillance cameras and check the content of our conversation. Because the team leader nagged her, the new colleague became very angry and kept saying that the team leader was very annoying and nagged constantly. The new colleague also asked about the team leader’s situation at the company. To be frank, he really has no rapport with anyone.

Because of the first issue with low productivity, when I was working at the first station, I recorded the quantity myself. Sure enough, the productivity that day exceeded the required standard. This also protected me.

Later, when doing the same work again, the new colleague was working at the first station and once again did not meet the productivity standard. I was at the second station (the first station controls the production quantity).

At that point, the team leader nagged both of us. He knew perfectly well what had happened, so I told him that I had recorded the quantity last time and that the productivity had met the standard. The next day, he told the new colleague that she needed to improve herself.

The next time we did the same work, when a new colleague was at the first station, the team leader made an unreasonable demand: no matter what, the quantity had to meet the target.

I felt that the work itself was quite okay. I can only say that I was unlucky to have encountered this team leader. Whatever!

I was criticized for going to the restroom two or three, or three to four, times a day during work hours. He was unhappy and kept watching me while I worked. I had previously told the team leader that, because of my health, I needed to drink more water, so I would also need to use the restroom.

I felt that he was my team leader, and I had already explained this to him. Instead of speaking up for his team member, he acted this way. I feel that he is a person without any warmth. This was the first time I had encountered a supervisor like this.

The last time, I went to the restroom because of stomach pain. He came to the production line to check on me twice and reviewed the surveillance footage to see when I had entered and left. When he returned, he came over and questioned me about how long I had spent in the restroom. I was so nervous about the restroom issue that I went to my locker to get my phone so I could time myself and see how long I had been in there. After using the restroom, I put my phone back in the locker and hurried back to the production line to work. I was in the restroom for ten minutes because of the stomach pain.

It takes about five minutes to walk there and back, and the work station is somewhat far away.

The restroom issue made me very nervous and stressed. I often held in my urine, which caused severe swelling in my legs. In the end, the team leader pressured me into submitting my resignation.

I told the assistant manager about the situation. Although the assistant manager allowed me to submit a medical certificate, I said it was unnecessary because I did not want to continue working there. The assistant manager was a good person and told me to think it through carefully and not act out of impulse.

I thought about it for two days after returning home, but I still could not accept this team leader or being treated this way. I really felt wronged. I only hope that in my next job, I can meet a good supervisor.

At my previous job, the supervisor said that if I needed to use the restroom, I could simply go without having to report it. It was very humane. Even if I was hungry sometimes, it was fine to eat a small bite of a biscuit.

As long as the work output met the target, that was enough.

We could even wear earphones and listen to music at work.

Later, because there were fewer orders, the company downsized and laid off employees.

Everything stated above is completely true.
