The workload is like a passing rain shower—sometimes there’s a lot to do, and sometimes you’re idle enough to scroll on your phone. The plant manager is essentially the branch manager. Whenever you hear “the company has decided,” unless there’s an official document, 99% of the time it’s actually something the plant manager decided.
New technicians are trained only by traditional methods and senior technicians. If you don’t do well, the technicians will harshly berate you without holding back. After maintenance, the senior technicians don’t perform a final inspection; if there’s a problem after the vehicle is released, you’re screwed. New employees don’t receive hourly-work bonuses during their first three months. Depending on the individual, there may be evening shifts. Basically, the shifts violate the Labor Standards Act (8 regular hours + 16 hours on duty + 8 hours of work the next day). If newcomers want to make money, they can stay—but in this company, it depends on whether your senior technician is willing to look out for you.
