The workload is like a passing rain shower—sometimes there’s a lot to do, and sometimes you’re idle enough to scroll on your phone. The plant manager is essentially the branch manager. Whenever you hear “the company has decided,” unless there’s an official document, 99% of the time it’s actually the plant manager’s decision.
New technicians are trained only by senior technicians and traditional methods. If you don’t do the job well, the technicians will chew you out without holding back. After maintenance, the senior technicians don’t perform a final inspection; if there’s a problem after the vehicle is released, you’re screwed. New hires do not receive hourly bonuses during their first three months. Depending on the individual, there may be evening shifts. Basically, the shifts violate the Labor Standards Act (8 hours + 16-hour shift duty + 8 hours of work the next day). If newcomers want money, they can stay; this company depends on which master technician you get.
