The workload is like a rain shower—sometimes there’s a lot to do, and sometimes there’s so much downtime that you end up scrolling on your phone. The plant manager is essentially the branch manager. Whenever you hear “the company has decided,” unless there’s an official document, 99% of the time it’s actually the plant manager’s decision.
New technicians are trained only by senior technicians through traditional hands-on instruction. If you don’t do the job well, the technician will berate you without hesitation. After maintenance, the senior technician does not perform a final inspection; once the vehicle is released, any problems mean you’re screwed. New hires do not receive hourly-work bonuses during their first three months. Depending on the individual, there may be night-shift duty. Basically, the duty schedule violates the Labor Standards Act (8 hours + 16 hours of duty + 8 hours of work the next day). If new hires want to make money, they can stay; in this company, it depends on whether the senior technician takes a liking to you.
