The workload is like a passing shower—sometimes there’s a lot to do, and sometimes you’re so idle you just scroll on your phone. The plant manager is essentially the branch manager. Whenever you hear “the company has decided,” unless there’s an official written notice, 99% of the time it’s actually the plant manager’s decision.
New technicians are trained only through traditional methods and by senior technicians. If you don’t do the job well, the senior technicians will berate you without holding back. After maintenance, the senior technicians do not perform a final inspection; once the vehicle is released, any problems mean you’re screwed. New hires do not receive hourly-work bonuses during their first three months. Depending on the individual, there may be night-shift duties. Basically, the duty schedule violates labor laws (8 hours + 16 hours on duty + 8 hours of work the next day). If new hires want to make money, they should stay; this company depends on whether you get along with your mentor.
