The work environment is good and very new, with new equipment and a well-equipped pantry. The colleagues are all young and generally easy to get along with.
This is a company that really likes holding meetings. There are all kinds of routine meetings every day, many of which are merely formalities. When external guests visit, everyone must attend, giving the impression that the company cares more about its image and likes to have everyone present. The boss occasionally comes up with additional activities that employees are required to attend, such as small competitions. You get a drink on your birthday, and snacks are often provided. In addition to their regular daily work, new employees are responsible for a whole host of routine miscellaneous tasks. These are tasks that can only be reassigned when another new employee joins, so if no new employee comes in, you just keep doing them. Every department monitors the others, so your interactions with everyone are monitored, and if you do something poorly, all the managers will know. Leave requests are approved, but you may be given a hard time afterward. There is an overtime culture, but overtime is compensated with time off in lieu rather than overtime pay. Personally, I think the salary is also much lower than that of other companies in the same industry.
