The work environment is good, very new, with brand-new equipment and a well-equipped pantry. The colleagues are all young and generally easy to get along with.
This is a company that really likes meetings. There are various routine meetings every day, many of which are just for show. When external guests visit, everyone is required to attend, giving the impression that the company cares more about its image and therefore likes to have everyone present. The boss occasionally comes up with additional activities that employees are expected to attend, such as small competitions. You get drinks on your birthday, and snacks are often provided. In addition to their regular daily work, new employees are responsible for a whole host of routine minor tasks. These tasks can only be reassigned when another new employee joins, so if no new person comes in, you just keep doing them. Every department monitors the others, so your interactions with everyone are also monitored, and if you do something poorly, all the managers will know. Leave requests are approved, but you may be given a hard time afterward. There is an overtime culture, but overtime is compensated with time off in lieu rather than overtime pay. Personally, I think the salary is also much lower than in the same industry.
