The work environment is good, very new, and the equipment is new. The pantry is well equipped. The colleagues are all young and generally easy to get along with.
This company really likes holding meetings. There are various routine meetings every day, many of which are merely formalities. Whenever external guests visit, everyone has to attend; it feels like the company cares about its image and therefore likes to have everyone participate. The boss occasionally comes up with additional activities that employees are required to attend, such as small competitions. You get a drink on your birthday, and snacks are often provided. In addition to the actual daily work, there are many routine small tasks that newcomers are expected to handle. These are tasks that can only be reassigned when another newcomer joins, so if no new person comes in, you just keep doing them. Every department monitors the others, so your interactions with everyone are monitored, and if you do something poorly, all the managers will know. Leave requests are approved, but you will be given a hard time afterward. There is an overtime culture, but overtime is compensated with time off in lieu rather than overtime pay. Personally, I think the salary is also much lower than that of other companies in the same industry.
