The work environment is good and very new, with new equipment and a well-equipped pantry. The colleagues are all young and generally easy to get along with.
This is a company that really likes holding meetings. There are all kinds of routine meetings every day, many of which are just formalities. When external guests visit, everyone is required to attend, giving the impression that the company places such importance on its image that it wants everyone present. The boss occasionally comes up with additional activities that employees are required to attend, such as small competitions. There are drinks on employees’ birthdays, and snacks are often provided. In addition to their actual daily work, newcomers are responsible for a whole lot of routine minor tasks. These are tasks that can only be reassigned when another newcomer joins, so if no new person comes in, you just keep doing them. Every department monitors the others, so your interactions with everyone are monitored, and if you do something poorly, all the managers will know. Leave requests are approved, but you may be given a hard time afterward. There is an overtime culture, but overtime is compensated with time off in lieu rather than overtime pay. Personally, I think the salary is also much lower than that of other companies in the same industry.
