The work environment is good and very new, with new equipment and a well-equipped pantry. The colleagues are all young and generally easy to get along with.
This company really likes holding meetings. There are various routine meetings every day, many of which are just formalities. When external guests visit, everyone is required to attend, giving the impression that the company cares about its image and therefore likes to have everyone participate. The boss occasionally comes up with additional activities that employees are required to attend, such as small competitions. You get a drink on your birthday, and snacks are often provided. In addition to their regular daily work, newcomers are also responsible for a whole bunch of routine miscellaneous tasks. These tasks can only be reassigned when another newcomer joins, so if no newcomer comes in, you just continue doing them. Every department monitors the others, so your interactions with everyone are monitored, and if you do something poorly, all the managers will know. Leave requests are approved, but you may be given a hard time afterward. There is an overtime culture, but overtime is compensated with time off in lieu rather than overtime pay. Personally, I think the salary is also much lower than that of other companies in the same industry.
