To evade the Labor Standards Act, the company requires employees to first fill out an “Overtime Estimate Report” by the end of the previous month and obtain the general manager’s approval before working overtime; otherwise, the overtime will not be counted or paid. Employees must also fill out a “Voluntary Overtime Application Form” to circumvent the Labor Standards Act, misleading the government into believing that employees voluntarily work overtime. In reality, wages are extremely low, so employees have to rely on overtime pay to make up the difference.
When working overtime, no boxed meals or meal allowances are provided.
For leave requests, when they coincide with a consecutive holiday period (Saturday and Sunday), the general manager’s signature and approval are required before leave can be taken. If requesting two or more days of leave, employees must also submit a written report to the general manager for approval. Annual leave is mandated by the government; as long as work progress is not affected, the company should not control how I take it. However, the general manager of this company really does reject leave requests, and employees have to make a major issue of it and submit their resignation before approval is granted.
Salaries are calculated manually, and payment always takes five business days. When holidays occur, payment is guaranteed to be delayed; it is never paid on time. The compensation system is divided into a responsibility-based system, an overtime-based system, and a monthly-pay 1/2 system, with the other 1/2 paid every three months.
