To evade the Labor Standards Act, the company requires employees to first complete an “Overtime Estimate Report” by the end of the previous month and obtain the general manager’s approval before working overtime; otherwise, the overtime will not be counted or paid. Employees must also fill out a “Voluntary Overtime Application Form” to evade the Labor Standards Act, making the government mistakenly believe that employees volunteered to work overtime, when in reality the salaries are kept extremely low and employees have to rely on overtime pay to supplement them.
When working overtime, no boxed meals or missed-meal allowances are provided.
For leave requests, when they coincide with a long weekend (Saturday or Sunday), employees must obtain the general manager’s approval before taking leave. If requesting two or more days off, employees must also write a formal report for the general manager’s approval. Annual leave is mandated by the government; as long as work progress is not affected, the company should not control how I take it. However, the general manager of this company really does reject requests, and employees have to escalate the matter and submit their resignations before approval is granted.
Salaries are calculated manually, and payment always takes five working days. When holidays occur, payment is guaranteed to be delayed further; it is never paid on time. The salary system is divided into a responsibility-based system, an overtime-based system, and a monthly-pay 1/2 system, with the other half paid every three months.
