To evade the Labor Standards Act, the company requires employees to fill out an “Overtime Estimate Report” by the end of the previous month and obtain the general manager’s approval before working overtime; otherwise, the overtime will not be counted for pay. Employees must also fill out a “Voluntary Overtime Application Form” to circumvent the Labor Standards Act, making the government believe that the overtime is voluntary. In reality, salaries are extremely low, so employees have to rely on overtime pay to make up for it.
When working overtime, no boxed meals or meal allowances are provided.
For leave, when it coincides with a consecutive holiday (Saturday or Sunday), approval from the general manager is required before leave can be taken. If requesting two or more days of leave, employees must also write a report for the general manager’s approval. Annual leave is stipulated by the government; as long as work progress is not affected, the company should not be able to control how I take it. However, the general manager of this company really does reject leave requests, and employees have to escalate the matter and submit their resignation before approval is granted.
Salaries are calculated manually, and payment always takes five working days. If there is a holiday, payment is guaranteed to be delayed; it is never paid on time. The salary system is divided into a responsibility-based system, an overtime-based system, and a monthly payment system in which half is paid monthly and the other half is paid every three months.
