To evade the Labor Standards Act, the company requires employees to submit an “Overtime Estimate Report” for the end of the previous month and obtain the general manager’s approval before working overtime; otherwise, the overtime will not be counted or paid. Employees must also fill out a “Voluntary Overtime Application Form” to circumvent the Labor Standards Act, making the government believe that employees volunteer to work overtime. In reality, salaries are extremely low, so employees have to rely on overtime pay to supplement their income.
When working overtime, no boxed meals or meal allowances are provided.
For leave, when it coincides with a consecutive holiday (Saturday and Sunday), the general manager’s signature and approval are required before leave can be taken. If applying for more than two days of leave, employees must also write a report for the general manager’s approval. Annual leave is stipulated by the government; as long as work progress is not affected, the company should not be able to control how I take it. However, the general manager of this company really does reject leave applications and requires employees to make a serious issue of it and submit their resignation before being willing to approve them.
Salaries are calculated manually, and payment always takes five working days. If there is a holiday, payment is guaranteed to be delayed further; it is never paid on time. The pay system is divided into a responsibility-based system, an overtime-based system, and a monthly payment system in which half is paid monthly and the other half is paid every three months.
