To evade the Labor Standards Act, the company requires employees to first fill out an “Overtime Estimate Report” by the end of the previous month and obtain the general manager’s approval before working overtime; otherwise, the overtime will not be counted or paid. Employees must also fill out a “Voluntary Overtime Application Form” to circumvent the Labor Standards Act, making the government believe that employees volunteered to work overtime. In reality, salaries are kept extremely low, so employees have to rely on overtime pay to make up the difference.
When working overtime, no boxed meals or meal allowances are provided.
For leave requests, when they coincide with a consecutive holiday (Saturday and Sunday), the general manager’s signature and approval are required before leave can be taken. If requesting two or more days of leave, employees must also write a report for the general manager’s approval. Annual leave is mandated by the government; as long as work progress is not affected, the company should not be able to control how I use it. However, the general manager of this company really does reject leave requests and requires employees to make a serious issue of it and submit their resignations before being willing to approve them.
Salaries are all calculated manually and invariably require five business days. When holidays occur, payment is guaranteed to be delayed further; it is never paid on time. The salary system is divided into a responsibility-based system, an overtime-based system, and a monthly payment system in which half is paid monthly and the other half is paid every three months.
