To evade the Labor Standards Act, the company requires employees to first complete an “Overtime Estimate Report” by the end of the previous month and obtain the general manager’s approval before working overtime; otherwise, the overtime will not be counted or paid. Employees must also fill out a “Voluntary Overtime Application Form” to circumvent the Labor Standards Act, leading the government to believe that employees volunteer to work overtime. In reality, wages are extremely low, so employees have to rely on overtime pay to make up for it.
When working overtime, no boxed meals or meal allowances are provided.
For leave requests, when they coincide with consecutive holidays (Saturday and Sunday), the general manager must sign and approve the request before leave can be taken. If requesting more than two days of leave, employees must also write a report for the general manager’s approval. Annual leave is mandated by the government; as long as work progress is not affected, the company should not control how I use it. However, the general manager of this company actually rejects leave requests and only approves them after employees escalate the matter and submit their resignations.
Salaries are calculated manually, and payment always takes five working days. When holidays occur, payment is guaranteed to be delayed; it is never paid on time. The compensation system is divided into a responsibility-based system, an overtime-based system, and a monthly-pay 1/2 system, with the other half paid every three months.
