To evade the Labor Standards Act, the company requires employees to first fill out an “Overtime Estimate Report” by the end of the previous month and obtain the general manager’s approval before working overtime; otherwise, the overtime will not be counted or paid. Employees must also fill out a “Voluntary Overtime Application Form” to evade the Labor Standards Act, making the government mistakenly believe that employees volunteer to work overtime. In reality, the wages are extremely low, so employees have to rely on overtime pay to make up for it.
When working overtime, no boxed meals or missed-meal allowances are provided.
For leave, when it coincides with a consecutive holiday (Saturday or Sunday), the general manager must sign and approve it before the leave can be taken. If taking two or more days of leave, employees must also write a report for the general manager’s approval. Annual leave is stipulated by the government; as long as it does not affect work progress, the company should not be able to control how I take it. However, the general manager of this company actually rejects applications and only approves them after employees make a major issue of it and submit their resignations.
Salaries are all calculated manually and invariably require five working days. When holidays occur, payment is guaranteed to be delayed further; it is never paid on time. The compensation system is divided into a responsibility-based system, an overtime-based system, and a monthly-pay 1/2 system, with the other half paid every three months.
