Using Ming Chia Li Metal, a leading supplier of copper coils in Taiwan with more than 40 years of history, as an example, after implementing the PIMQ machine network, the company can monitor machine operations and collect data in real time, substantially reducing paper usage by 50%, lowering machine-management labor costs, and increasing equipment utilization. More importantly, the system converts experienced senior technicians’ knowledge into digital metrics, helping establish a professional knowledge base unique to the company and enabling small and medium-sized enterprises to genuinely experience the benefits of digital transformation.

A case involving the alleged diversion of benefits has emerged at Ming Chia Li Metal Industrial, Taiwan’s second-largest copper importer. After receiving a report, investigators alleged that the Lin family, which had long controlled Ming Chia Li, separately established Lien Hwa Aluminum. Using Lien Hwa’s name, the family allegedly imported copper raw materials and then sold them to Ming Chia Li at inflated prices, pocketing the price difference. The family is estimated to have obtained more than NT$100 million in illicit benefits over four years and is suspected of breach of trust. On the 28th, prosecutors and investigators searched seven locations, including Lien Hwa and Ming Chia Li, and questioned five defendants—including Lien Hwa and Ming Chia Li representatives Lin Chiu-chun and Lin Shih-chiang, who are siblings—as well as two witnesses. After questioning, prosecutors ordered bail of NT$3 million for Lin Chiu-chun and NT$5 million for Lin Shih-chiang. Both were barred from leaving Taiwan by land or sea. Two other alleged accomplices, surnamed Yang and Huang, were each released on NT$150,000 bail.
