UI visual design. The interviewer was Huang XX. Before the interview, they made everything sound fantastic, but their head was full of ideas imposed by competitors. They kept insisting on imitating Xiaohongshu and Douyin videos, while clearly not understanding marketing themselves. During the interview, they described one set of responsibilities, but once I actually started working, it turned out to be something entirely different. The company website backend uses Squarespace, which they did not mention at first, and no one provided any handover after I started. I had to figure it out myself. They said I would be taking photos, but the company did not even have a camera—only a few broken light tents. They told me to take photos with my phone. The only thing they kept saying was, “I know there are many problems, but people who can solve problems are more important.” It was really frustrating. The company’s hardware conditions were fundamentally inadequate from the outset, yet they expected someone to come in and fix those inherent deficiencies. Ridiculous. They only told people to keep imitating the layouts of other design companies’ CCD work, but in practice it was impossible to apply them across different platforms. It was laughable—they could only take other design companies’ stiff, static images and somehow try to turn them into videos. Absolutely ridiculous.
