It seems like quite a large company

I had one interview. During the initial phone call, HR described everything in glowing terms. After the interview, I spoke with two managers, and the discussion was fairly ordinary; the senior manager seemed satisfied. The next day, HR contacted me promptly, implying that everything was fine, and we started confirming the salary. After I provided the requested information, they also said there was no problem. They said the process would be finalized after the long holiday.

Then the nightmare began. After waiting for more than a week, I was confused and emailed to ask about the status. They suddenly said they were still continuing with interviews, as if everything they had said verbally before meant nothing. They kept refusing to give me an answer. In the end, they told me they would proactively notify me once there was a result. After waiting a full month, I discovered that the job posting had been removed. I emailed again to ask, only to be told that they had already found someone. Is this really an acceptable way to handle things? Do they consider the applicant’s time worthless?
