Pros

You can basically eat whatever you see in the kitchen.

The coworkers are pretty nice and not too annoying.

There is no limit on overtime.

Cons

Pretty much the same as a certain other review.

Basically, they teach you once and then mostly leave you on your own. They won’t proactively come ask about your progress.

If you don’t know something, you can only go into the office to ask.

(The testing location is sometimes not in the office; it may be next to the lobby.)

When I had just started, the orders may have happened to be at a lull, so I was doing relatively simple tasks such as cleaning, visual inspections, and boxing.

After additional orders came in, I was basically testing every day.

Not long after I started, the engineers would ask the other assistants nearby about my progress, why my testing took so long, or question whether my procedure was correct.

But sometimes I was right there beside them. It would have been faster to ask me directly instead of going through someone else.

And usually, only after the engineer asked would the others come ask me about my progress or what problems I was having.

But sometimes it was really helpless. After all, you can’t compare someone who just joined with the speed of an experienced worker (right?).

Also,

work assignments were poorly organized, and there was no handoff.

After finishing one round, I had to ask what I should do in the next round.

After finishing that round, I had to ask again. It was really annoying.

Sometimes they couldn’t even give me a schedule.

Maybe the more difficult models in the next round had to be handled by experienced workers,

so I could only do the basic, simple ones first.

In other words, I didn’t know what they would ask me to do next, but the boss’s wife required me to lay out the schedule in the “This Week’s To-Do Items” section of the work report. That was completely unreasonable (so I never entered anything).

There was also a small incident. When I first started, I had no idea that payroll started counting as soon as you clocked in. (My hours were 9:00–18:00.) Before that, I would clock in before 8:30.

I thought it was fine to clock in early at many companies; after all, you start getting paid at the scheduled start time.

So during my first week, not knowing this, I clocked in and then started eating breakfast.

Who knew the boss’s wife would ask me: “Why don’t you eat breakfast at home?”

????? I thought to myself: Where I eat breakfast is none of your business.

I only found out later that payroll starts counting as soon as you clock in. (This was never mentioned during the interview.)

So afterward, I clocked in at 8:50, just before work started.

I actually really regret joining this company.

I applied for an engineering assistant position, but basically spent every day testing.

It was nothing like an engineering assistant role; it was more like being a technician.

What the company really needed wasn’t an engineering assistant, but a technician, right?

I’ve been here almost three months, and getting a server set up has been dragged out.

They said they had to wait until the boss came back from a business trip before setting it up, but even after he came back, nothing was done.

Every day, I have to upload the testing data to the server, and every time I have to ask a coworker to help upload it. It’s really troublesome ^_^

I complained at work that I was testing every day and it was really annoying.

The other assistants replied that they had gone through the same thing.

But what does that have to do with me? I didn’t apply to be a technician.

And I’m busier than a dog every day, while the pay is relatively low.

(Lower than what 104 lists.)

I’ve recently started interviewing with other companies.

As soon as I find one, I’ll resign immediately.
