Pros

You can basically eat whatever you see in the kitchen.

The colleagues are pretty nice and not overly annoying.

There is no limit on overtime.

Cons

Pretty much the same as another review.

They basically teach you once and then more or less leave you on your own. They don't proactively come ask about your progress.

If you don't know something, you can only go into the office to ask.

(The testing location is sometimes not in the office; it may be next to the lobby.)

When I had just started, the orders may have happened to be at a lull, so I did relatively simple tasks such as cleaning, visual inspections, and boxing products.

After more orders came in, I was basically testing every day.

Not long after I started, the engineers would ask other assistants nearby about my progress, why my testing was taking so long, or question whether my procedures were correct.

But sometimes I was right there beside them. It would have been faster to just ask me directly instead of going through someone else.

Also, usually only after the engineers asked would the others come ask me about my progress or what problems I was having.

But sometimes I felt really helpless. After all, you can't compare a new employee's speed with that of an experienced worker (right?).

And then,

work assignments are not organized at all, and there is no handover.

After finishing one round, I have to ask what I should do in the next round.

After finishing that round, I have to ask again. It's really annoying.

Sometimes they can't give me a schedule at all.

Maybe the more difficult model in the next round is supposed to be handled by an experienced worker,

so I can only do the basic, simple ones first.

I should say that I don't know what they will ask me to do next, but the boss's wife requires me to lay out the schedule in the “To-Do Items for This Week” section of the work report. That's asking the impossible (so I never entered anything).

There was also a minor incident. When I first started, I had no idea that your pay starts being calculated as soon as you clock in. (My hours were 9:00–18:00.) Before that, I would clock in before 8:30.

I thought it was fine to clock in early at many companies; after all, you get paid from the scheduled start time.

So during my first week, I didn't know this and started eating breakfast right after clocking in.

Who knew the boss's wife would ask me, “Why don't you eat breakfast at home?”

????? In my head, I thought: Where I eat breakfast is none of your damn business.

Only later did I find out that pay starts being calculated as soon as you clock in. (This was never mentioned in the interview.)

So afterward, I would clock in at 8:50, just before work started.

I actually really regret joining this company.

I applied for an engineering assistant position, but I basically test every day.

It's nothing like an engineering assistant role; it's more like a technician.

Actually, what the company needs isn't an engineering assistant but a technician, right?

I've been here for almost three months, and getting a server set up has been dragged out forever.

They said they had to wait for the boss to return from a business trip before setting it up, but even after she returned, nothing was done.

Every day, the test data needs to be uploaded to the server, and I have to ask a colleague to upload it each time. It's really troublesome ^_^

I complain at work that I'm testing every day and it's really annoying.

The other assistants tell me they went through the same thing.

But what does that have to do with me? I didn't apply to be a technician.

And I'm busier than a dog every day, while the pay is relatively low.

(Lower than what 104 shows.)

I've recently started interviewing with other companies.

As soon as I find one, I'll resign immediately.
