Pros

You can basically eat whatever you see in the kitchen.

The colleagues are pretty nice and not overly annoying.

There is no limit on overtime.

Cons

Pretty much the same as a certain other review.

They basically teach you once and then more or less leave you on your own. They won’t proactively ask about your progress.

If you don’t know something, you can only go into the office to ask.

(Sometimes the testing location isn’t in the office; it may be beside the lobby.)

When I first started, the orders may have just reached a stopping point, so I was doing relatively simple tasks such as cleaning, visual inspections, and putting things into boxes.

After more orders were added, I was basically testing every day.

Not long after I started, the engineers would ask the other assistants about my progress and why my testing was taking so long, or question whether my procedures were correct.

But sometimes I was right there beside them. It would have been faster to ask me directly instead of going through other people.

Also, usually after the engineers asked, the other people would then come and ask me about my progress or what problems I was having.

But sometimes it was really helpless. After all, you can’t compare someone who just started with the speed of an experienced worker (right?).

And then,

work assignments are poorly organized and there is no handover.

After finishing one round, I have to ask what I should do in the next round.

After finishing that round, I have to ask again. It’s really annoying.

Sometimes they can’t even give me a schedule.

Maybe the more difficult model in the next round has to be handled by an experienced worker,

so I can only do the basic, simple tasks first.

Basically, I don’t know what they will ask me to do next, but the boss’s wife requires me to lay out a schedule in the “Tasks for This Week” section of the work report. That’s completely unreasonable (so I didn’t enter anything at all).

There was also a minor incident. When I first started, I had no idea that clocking in meant my paid hours started immediately (my hours are 9:00–18:00). Before that, I would clock in before 8:30.

I figured it was fine to clock in early at many companies—if the scheduled start time was a certain hour, that was when they started counting pay.

So during my first week, I didn’t know this and started eating breakfast right after clocking in.

Who knew the boss’s wife would ask me, “Why don’t you eat breakfast at home?”

????? I thought to myself: Where I eat breakfast is none of your business.

I only found out later that pay starts as soon as you clock in (this was never mentioned in the interview).

So afterward, I would clock in at 8:50, just before work started.

I actually really regret joining this company.

I applied for an engineering assistant position, but basically spent every day testing.

It’s nothing like an engineering assistant role; it’s more like being a technician.

What the company actually needs isn’t an engineering assistant, but a technician, right?

I’ve been here for almost three months, and setting up a server has been dragged out.

They said they had to wait until the boss returned from a business trip before setting it up, but it still wasn’t done after he came back.

Every day, the test data has to be uploaded to the server, and I have to ask colleagues to help upload it every time. It’s really troublesome ^_^

I complained at work that I was testing every day and it was really annoying.

The other assistants replied that they had gone through the same thing.

But what does that have to do with me? I didn’t apply to be a technician.

Besides, I’m busier than a dog every day, and the pay is relatively low.

(Lower than what 104 listed.)

I’ve recently started interviewing with new companies.

Once I find one, I’ll resign immediately.
