Pros

Basically, you can eat whatever you see in the kitchen.

The coworkers are pretty nice and aren’t overly annoying.

There’s no limit on overtime.

Cons

More or less the same as another review.

They basically teach you once and then mostly leave you on your own. They won’t proactively come ask about your progress.

If you don’t know something, you can only go into the office to ask.

(The testing area sometimes isn’t in the office; it may be next to the lobby.)

When I first started, the orders may have just reached a lull, so I did relatively simple tasks like cleaning, visual inspections, and boxing things.

After more orders came in, I was basically testing every day.

Not long after I started, the engineers would ask the other assistants about my progress, why my testing was taking so long, or question whether my procedures were correct.

But sometimes I was right there beside them. It would have been faster to just ask me directly instead of going through someone else.

Also, usually after the engineers asked, the others would come ask me about my progress or what problems I was having.

But sometimes it was really helpless. After all, you can’t compare someone who just started with the speed of an experienced employee (right?).

Also, work assignments are very poorly organized, and there’s no handover.

After finishing one round, I have to ask what I’m supposed to do in the next round.

After finishing that round, I have to ask again. It’s really annoying.

Sometimes they can’t give me a schedule at all.

Maybe the more difficult model in the next round is supposed to be handled by an experienced employee,

so I can only do the basic, simple ones first.

Basically, I don’t know what they’ll ask me to do next, but the boss’s wife requires me to lay out a schedule in the “To-Do Items for This Week” section of the work report. That’s completely unreasonable (so I never entered anything).

There was also a minor incident. When I first started, I had no idea that your working hours—and therefore your pay—started as soon as you clocked in. (My hours were 9:00–18:00.) Before that, I used to clock in before 8:30.

I thought it was fine to clock in early at many companies; after all, you’re paid starting from the official work start time.

So during my first week, not knowing this, I clocked in and then ate breakfast.

Who knew the boss’s wife would ask me, “Why don’t you eat breakfast at home?”

????? I thought to myself: Where I eat breakfast is none of your business.

Only later did I find out that pay starts as soon as you clock in. (This was never mentioned during the interview.)

So afterward, I clocked in at 8:50, just before work.

I actually regret joining this company quite a bit.

I applied for an engineering assistant position, but basically all I do every day is testing.

It’s nothing like an engineering assistant role; it’s more like being a technician.

What the company really needs isn’t an engineering assistant, but a technician, right?

I’ve been here for almost three months, and they still haven’t managed to get a server set up properly.

They said they had to wait until the boss returned from a business trip before setting it up, but even after she returned, nothing was done.

Every day, the test data has to be uploaded to the server, and I have to ask a coworker to upload it every time. It’s really troublesome ^_^

I complained at work that I’m testing every day and it’s really annoying.

The other assistants replied that they had gone through the same thing.

But what does that have to do with me? I didn’t apply to be a technician.

And I’m busier than a dog every day, while the pay is on the low side.

(Lower than what 104 shows.)

Recently, I’ve started interviewing with other companies.

I’ll resign immediately once I find one.
