Pros

You can basically eat whatever you see in the kitchen.

The coworkers are pretty nice and not overly annoying.

There is no limit on overtime.

Cons

More or less the same as a certain other review.

They basically teach you once and then leave you to figure things out. They won't proactively ask about your progress.

If you don't know something, you can only go into the office and ask.

(Sometimes the testing location isn't in the office; it may be next to the lobby.)

When I first reported for work, the orders may have just reached a stopping point, so I did relatively simple tasks such as cleaning, visual inspection, and boxing.

After more orders came in, I was basically testing every day.

Not long after I started, the engineers would ask other assistants nearby about my progress, why the testing was taking so long, or question whether my procedures were correct.

But sometimes I was right there beside them. It would have been faster to ask me directly instead of going through other people.

Also, usually only after the engineers asked would the others come and ask me about my progress or what problems I was having.

But sometimes it was really helpless. After all, I had just joined and couldn't be expected to work at the same speed as experienced employees (right?).

Then there's the work scheduling.

There is no proper order to the assignments, and there is no handover.

After finishing one round, I have to ask what I'm supposed to do in the next round.

After finishing that round, I have to ask again. It's really annoying.

Sometimes they can't even give me a schedule.

Maybe the more difficult model in the next round is reserved for an experienced employee,

so I can only do the basic, simpler tasks first.

In other words, I don't know what they will ask me to do next, but the boss's wife requires me to lay out the schedule in the “Tasks for This Week” section of the work report. That's asking the impossible (so I never entered anything).

There was also a minor incident. When I first started, I had no idea that clocking in meant my pay started being calculated immediately (my hours were 9–18). Before that, I would clock in before 8:30.

I thought it was fine to clock in early at many companies; after all, your pay starts at the scheduled start time anyway.

But during my first week, not knowing this, I clocked in and then started eating breakfast.

Who knew the boss's wife would ask me, “Why don't you eat breakfast at home?”

????? I thought to myself: Where I eat breakfast is none of your business.

Only later did I find out that pay starts being calculated as soon as you clock in (this was never mentioned in the interview).

So afterward, I would clock in at 8:50, right before work started.

I actually really regret joining this company.

I applied for an engineering assistant position, but basically spent every day testing.

It was nothing like an engineering assistant role; it was more like being a technician.

What the company actually needs isn't an engineering assistant but a technician, right?

I've been here for almost three months, and they still drag their feet about setting up a server.

They said they would do it after the boss returned from a business trip, but even after he came back, nothing happened.

Every day, the test data has to be uploaded to the server, and I have to ask coworkers to help upload it every time. It's really troublesome ^_^

I complained at work that I was testing every day and it was annoying.

The other assistants replied that they had gone through the same thing.

But that's none of my business—I didn't apply to be a technician.

And I'm busier than a dog every day, while the pay is rather low.

(Lower than what 104 lists.)

I've recently started interviewing with new companies.

As soon as I find one, I'll resign.
